Lone Star College offers fully funded fast-track training for in-demand careers
HOUSTON (Jan. 10, 2017) – Interested in finding a better job? Lone Star College can help you land a new and rewarding career in Mechatronics, Nursing Assistant, Master and Manual Machining, Payroll Assistant, or Oil & Gas Drilling Floorhand-Roustabout in little time and at no cost.
“Lone Star College will provide students with the funds needed for supplies, books and uniforms to get them quickly trained and hired,” said Stephen Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who is looking to start a new career.”
LSC has $3,600 available now per student for the first 60 students who apply and qualify that are interested in Mechatronics, Nursing Assistant, Master and Manual Machining, Payroll Assistant, or Oil and Gas Drilling Floorhand-Roustabout. “Lone Star College offers a variety of cutting edge technology programs that give students a wide range of career options,” said Head.
These programs are funded by grants and are set up as fast-track training, which means students can complete it in as little as six weeks and be certified for work.

In addition, $100,000 is also available for students taking a variety of credit classes.
LSC received a $169,831 grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and a $127,800 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission and the Houston-Galveston Area Local Development Corporation to help fund this free training.
