Lone Star College Recognized for its Culture of Accountability
HOUSTON (May 26, 2017) – Partners In Leadership announced Lone Star College has received the prestigious 2017 Ozzie Award for Excellence in Education. The award recognizes organizations that have achieved impactful results in accountability, leadership and culture in education. LSC is the first institution of higher education to receive this award.
Partners In Leadership is a leading global consulting firm, the “pioneer of accountability training, and innovator of cultural transformation.”
“The LSC Organizational Development department plays a key role in advancing a culture which values and respects all employees and promotes collaboration,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “This recognition is a testament to that commitment.”
The recipients of the awards, which represented various categories of business, were recognized at The Ozzie Awards Dinner hosted in Washington, D.C. at the Accountability+ PLUS Symposium, an international conference that focuses on shaping accountable, strategic organizations to thrive culturally and reach organizational goals.
LSC developed the 20|20 program, a cultural transformation process aimed at creating a culture of accountability in achieving Lone Star College’s key organizational results.
The LSC 20|20 task force, a team of 115 faculty and staff representatives from across the system, developed six core beliefs; students matter, inspire excellence, act intentionally, better together, no fear and trust. These beliefs clarify and focus the college’s efforts on student success.
“The Organizational Development department serves the entire college by connecting organizations, people, strategies and processes to enhance the beliefs of Lone Star College through empowering its members,” said Debbra Esparza, LSC Organizational Development executive director. “I am very proud of the work our team does to help our students succeed.”
Lone Star College offers high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training education to 95,000 students each semester.
