CONGRESS
The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Rules is set to consider a rule for H.R. 734 – Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 for April 17, 2023 – to prepare for full House consideration of the bill next week. ADMINISTRATION
U.S. Department of Education (ED) Under Secretary James Kvaal posted a blog post announcing that ED is delaying the implementation of its recent third-party servicer guidance.

ED formally published its proposed Title IX regulatory changes pertaining to athletics in the Federal Register.

ED held public listening sessions on its notice of intent to conduct negotiated rulemaking.

ED issued guidance on student privacy protections under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for both school officials and students and their families.

ED announced that it will send a letter to leadership at all institutions of higher education regarding potential changes to Federal student aid after the full implementation of both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Simplification Act and the Fostering Undergraduate Talent by Unlocking Resources for Education (FUTURE Act).
