As leaders of community colleges across the nation, Rebuilding America’s Middle Class (RAMC) strongly encourages Congress to fully fund the Pell Grant shortfall recently reported by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The Pell Grant program provides vital funding to low-income students, including those who attend community colleges. RAMC also wants to highlight that the projected estimates of the cost of Workforce Pell by the CBO make clear that Workforce Pell is not a significant contributor to the shortfall currently projected for the Pell Grant program.
