The RAMC Mission
Rebuilding America’s Middle Class (RAMC) is a coalition of community colleges that aims to rebuild America’s middle class by enhancing student success and by promoting the vital role of community colleges. The vast majority of jobs in the future will require more than a high school degree, even though the number of students graduating college is tapering off. However, the relationship between a post-secondary education and a steady income has never been more pronounced. At RAMC, we believe that community colleges are perfectly positioned to provide the opportunities needed to help future generations of Americans succeed. Community Colleges are truly poised to be the solution to a vanishing American middle class. Therefore, we advocate for the needs and priorities of community colleges and community college students across the nation. We strongly believe that by investing in Community Colleges, we are investing in America’s future.
Rebuilding America’s Middle Class is a non-profit 501 (c) (6). We are a member-supported coalition composed of state-wide community college systems, community college districts, individual institutions, and their affiliates.
What We Do
Rebuilding America’s Middle Class advances policies to build a stronger, better-educated middle class. In order to do so, we specifically focus on community colleges and students. Among our many activities and efforts, we:
- Provide a strong national voice for community colleges. We advocate for policies, partnerships, and strategies that enhance student success.
- Communicate and demonstrate the vital role community colleges play in spurring economic development in local communities.
- Educate policy makers on how to develop and implement sound laws that will best support America’s community colleges..
