Discovery College at Lone Star College Unlocks a World of Learning
HOUSTON (April 7, 2017) – Discovery College at Lone Star College helps children ages 6 – 17 grow their interests and skills in a wide variety of science, technology, engineering and math-based programs, as well as performing and visual arts, athletics and more.
“Discovery College is a wonderful way for children to pursue their interests in a fun-filled environment that encourages learning,” said Stephen C. Head, Ph.D., LSC chancellor. “It’s also a great way to introduce them to the college environment.”
Registration for the popular Discovery College at LSC summer camp is taking place now. One-week camps begin each Monday, June 12 – 29 and July 10 – 13.
Children have a special opportunity to learn and develop skills in architecture, fashion design, game design, Lego engineering and much, much more. Students will also have the chance to discover STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)-based camp experiences.
Courses are taught by knowledgeable instructors in a welcoming environment and are offered to children ages 6 – 17. Cost of tuition starts at $97 per week.
Discovery College summer camp, held at LSC-CyFair, LSC- Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-Tomball and LSC-University Park, offers an assortment of entertaining and instructive programs that give children the opportunity to make new friends with similar interests.
In addition to science, technology, engineering and math-based programs, as well as the performing arts, Discovery College students can also learn to prepare for ACT/SAP tests.
