CONGRESS
A bipartisan group of senators announced that they have agreed to a framework for firearm-related legislation that includes provisions regarding school safety and mental health.

ADMINISTRATION
President Biden signed an executive order on “Advancing Equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Individuals,” which, in part, aims to address “harmful and discriminatory legislative attacks on LGBTQI+ children, youth, and families.”

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona released a statement on the tenth anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) announced the launch of the National Parents and Family Engagement Council.

The agenda and meeting access instructions were published for the July 19 through 22, 2022 meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity in the Federal Register.
