RAMC Washington Wrap Up – April 10, 2026

ADMINISTRATION

The fiscal year (FY) 2027 Presidential Budget Request was sent to Congress. The agency-specific summaries can be found here: U.S. Department of Education (ED)U.S. Department of Labor (DOL); and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order titled, “Addressing DEI Discrimination by Federal Contractors.”

ED shared that it will start emailing the 7.5 million borrowers enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan with guidance on entering a new repayment plan.

ED announced that it is restarting consideration of applications for Borrower Defense to Repayment.

DOL announced a new initiative to integrate artificial intelligence skills into Registered Apprenticeship programs across the country. Relatedly, DOL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Science Foundation regarding the advancement of workforce development efforts related to artificial intelligence.
